The Solution
The crew deployed 36 APEX AGM units along the pipeline, configured for challenging signal conditions. PigView Web paired with the hardware so the team could monitor pig movement and detections in real time.
For the water‑heavy sections, external EM antennas were lowered closer to the pipe – close enough to pull a clean signal through standing water.
Because APEX adapts across frequencies, it also worked cleanly alongside the third‑party transmitters already on the job.
Implementation in the Field
AGMs were mounted on elevated platforms fixed to stable structures along the route, so rising and falling water levels didn’t compromise placement.
Crews monitored detections remotely through PigView Web, cutting trips to difficult and unsafe locations. Pig progress could be confirmed without leaving the truck.
Where conditions shifted, the team adjusted, raising equipment for tide changes and repositioning antennas to keep signal stable.
